The Director of Marketing and Communication develops and implements strategic marketing and communications to support the district mission, core themes, and goals. Working collaboratively, the Director is responsible for internal and external communication, the District website, print and e-publications, advertising, marketing (including social media), public relations, and outreach to promote enrollment, events, and the district image. The Director is the District's Public Information Officer and works regularly with the executive team to craft District and crisis communications as needed. This position reports to the Vice President of Workforce, Economic, and Professional Development and is eligible for 1- 2 days of remote work once training has been completed. Regular and consistent attendance is required. The Director of Marketing and Communication will be responsible for the following but not limited to: District Leadership and Management for Marketing and Communications Oversee the development and management of marketing plans supportive of the District's Mission and Core Themes. Develop an annual marketing plan that includes advertising, social media, mail, publications, and recruitment/outreach. Guide college departments in planning, designing, and producing professional communication pieces, including providing templates and training. Responsible for initiating, planning, and/or managing various campus events and celebrations. Develop and maintain the District's branding standards. Identify, research, introduce, and assess new marketing tools. Develop strategic internal communication strategies to keep constituents informed and engaged in college news. Supervise MarCom staff, including recruitment, training, evaluation, scheduling, and disciplining; demonstrate leadership in supporting and promoting professional development for department staff. Develop and manage department budgets and expenditures, develop budget projections, and function as the primary administrator with signature authority. Produce and implement executive-level communications for college leadership. Develop and maintain handbooks, guidelines, and procedures for communications and marketing. Media Publications and Presence Oversee video and other multi-media production from concept to completion to support District and program needs. Plan and execute a comprehensive, standard set of publications for various audiences. Oversee all college publications from concept to completion. Manage the district web and intranet site's design, content management, and navigability; responsible for developing the District's Content Management System. Develop and monitor the District's social media presence. Develop and execute a comprehensive e-communications program, including blogs, e-newsletters, and other vehicles. Develop and manage a customer relations management system. Enrollment Support Collaborate with the instructional and student services divisions on outreach, recruitment, and marketing programs to increase enrollment in targeted areas. Assist in developing enrollment goals for the District and targeted programs/markets. Connect with college and program staff when enrollments require marketing communication intervention. Serve on the Equity, Access, and Opportunity Team (EAOT).
