(DPI) is a 501(c)(3) community-building organization that delivers enhanced municipal services to the Downtown business core, marketing and event production to Greater Downtown, and manages the work plans for Phoenix Community Alliance and the Downtown Phoenix Community Development Corporation. DPI and its affiliate organizations are committed to making Phoenix a vibrant urban destination and one of the nation’s great cities. Position Description and Overview: Downtown Phoenix Inc. is currently seeking an engaged and enthusiastic intern to work in its marketing department. The opportunity will provide exposure to a variety of areas, like graphic design, merchandising, branding, content development, and social media. You’ll have the opportunity to learn everything from strategy to conceptualization and execution and be able to work adjacent to other departments such as the community engagement events team, the DTPHX Ambassadors and Clean Green Team, and DPI’s membership affiliate, Phoenix Community Alliance. The internship will include working with a variety of programs like Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and Microsoft 365. You’ll be able to utilize and sharpen certain skills like photography and videography for social media, graphic design, inventory management, stakeholder engagement, event marketing, and more. This position will include 1:1 guidance and mentorship from marketing professionals on the marketing team at Downtown Phoenix Inc. In addition to gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, you will also have the opportunity to request work projects in your particular area of interest. Responsibilities: Support marketing campaign planning and execution Write copy for social media posts, newsletters, website, and marketing collateral Manage inventory and assist with ordering merchandise Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for DPI’s marketing channels Assist with branding and graphic design needs Brainstorm new ideas and creative concepts for marketing campaigns and events Attend DPI events, team meetings and stakeholder open houses Qualifications: Current enrollment in Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Marketing or a college or university program related to marketing. Must be a sophomore or above. Basic photography, image and video editing through programs like InShot or CapCut, and graphic design skills Basic knowledge of Adobe Cloud, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Express Basic knowledge of social media content creation (photo/video) and platforms for Facebook, Linked In, X, Instagram, and TikTok. Knowledge of social media trends is an added bonus.
