The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team is responsible for establishing, fostering, cultivating and maintaining relationships with HCPs with the end goal of educating and providing information on the company products, developing and building relationships with both national and regional medical thought leaders, facilitating research endeavors, and educating HCPs. In addition, the MSL provides scientific insights back to Medical Affairs management. The MSL should have an in-depth understanding of areas related to Endocrinology and Gastroenterology to support both approved and pipeline compounds. This is a front-line field position, critical to establishing and maintaining excellent educational and research collaborations with HCPs, thought leaders, investigators and key academic institutions to build outstanding product awareness and advocacy. Further, the MSL should have experience in the appropriate exchange of scientific information related to products with boxed warnings and REMS programs in place. Duties and Responsibilities : Engage in meaningful scientific discussions with external stakeholders, both about the disease state as well as the scientific evidence available Build and maintain solid and credible relationships with the medical community on Company’s’ behalf in both Academic and Community settings Facilitate and establish research opportunities between the company and investigators Present clinical information to healthcare professionals and organizations. Support and facilitate medical communications and publications (e.g. abstracts, case studies/series, review articles, etc.) by acting as a liaison between external stakeholders and Medical Affairs Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding field clinical issues Keep current with published literature in the relevant therapeutic areas Attend scientific/medical/professional meetings as required Support rollout of clinical studies Provide medical, scientific and technical expertise to ensure product awareness and understanding Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with current and future national and regional opinion leaders and study investigators Support the Risk Evaluation & Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Qualifications : Advanced terminal degree strongly preferred (PharmD, DNP or MD). Will consider PhD, NP, MSN, or PA with Endocrinology and/ or Gastroenterology and MSL experience. A strong science/clinical background with a proven track record of educating HCPs on medications and disease states is strongly preferred. At least 5 years of prior MSL experience preferred. Prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison in Endocrinology and/or Gastroenterology is preferred. Established relationships with Endocrinology and Gastroenterology external experts is highly desired. Takes seriously relevant policies and procedures. Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude, possessing the initiative required to achieve desired goals both independently and within a team structure. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of FDA requirements related to MSLs. Strong relationship-building skills, particularly with the research community. History of delivering within and adapting to nimbleness of a small to midsize company. Willingness to travel up to 70%, dependent on region, with easy access to large hub airport desired Valid driver’s license in good standing COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: An essential function of this role is being able to support and visit customer’s sites and locations (hospitals, institutions). Salary offers to be determined based on industry experience, education and therapeutic expertise.
