We are seeking a dynamic Director of Research & Development (R&D) to lead our R&D team in developing innovative personal care products. This role is pivotal in overseeing product development, raw material evaluation, and scaling processes from pilot to production. Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of R&D will ensure the successful commercialization of products by collaborating across departments and driving technical excellence. How will you contribute: · Team Leadership : Manage and mentor R&D chemists and the compounding team, fostering innovation and collaboration. Oversee day-to-day R&D operations, ensuring projects align with company goals. · Product & Process Development: Lead the development of formulations for new and existing products, including surfactant systems, emulsions (W/O and O/W), and other personal care technologies. Develop and implement detailed manufacturing documentation to support the transition from R&D to production. Optimize scale-up processes to ensure product quality and consistency. · Technical Innovation: Identify and qualify new technologies to deliver breakthrough product benefits. Drive innovation in compounding and filling processes while maintaining quality standards. · Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, planning, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment on project goals. Communicate technical findings and project updates to stakeholders and team members. · Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, cGMP regulations, and internal SOPs. Maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). 10 years of R&D or process development experience in the personal care or beauty industry. Proven leadership experience with a track record of delivering innovative and commercially successful products. Work Environment: May involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shellfish, Milk, Egg, Tree Nuts and Sesame. Together We Grow " This position is currently classified as on-site. Base Salary Range: $153,000 - $191,000 per year, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
