Freeport LNG, a leading force in the global LNG market, is excited to launch its Summer Internship Program. The Community Affairs & Communications intern will split time between both the Headquarters Office located in Downtown Houston and our Terminal location in Quintana, Texas. The 2025 Summer Internship Program will last for 12 weeks and will run from late May to early August. Students will work with managers, provide support to their departments, interact with employees, vendors, and team members. The internship will focus on supporting various initiatives, department objectives, and impactful projects. Interns will also work closely with a mentor for the duration of the program. At the conclusion of the internship program, students will deliver a presentation to senior leadership highlighting the projects they worked on. Duties/Responsibilities In support of Freeport LNG’s Community Affairs Department, The candidate will , assist the Director, Community Affairs with duties that include but are not limited to, community outreach efforts, and employee events and activities. Other related duties will include: Participation in all site safety activities Assisting in creating a variety of community affairs strategies Taking photos at various Freeport LNG Community Affairs Events In support of Freeport LNG’s Corporate Communications Department, the candidate will assist the Director, Corporate Communications, with duties that include but are not limited to: General: Participation in HQ safety meetings, if present on days the meetings are held Internal Communications – Manage process for content and light design refreshes of Freeport LNG department intranet pages Assist with content creation for Freeport LNG’s digital signage External Communications - Assist with Freeport LNG social media posts when applicable Minimum Qualification/Work Experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Communication Studies, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or equivalent Current level in college: Sophomore through Senior or Graduate Student Expected graduation date: Fall 2025 through Spring/Fall 2028 A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship Preferred experience with Graphic Design & PowerPoint Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to be innovative and to apply technical skills Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to be a team player Excellent communicator at all levels Good listening and influencing skills Focus on good customer service Ability to manage change and multiple priorities Ability to deliver results Strong problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to follow all safety standards Ability to work independently Desire to provide proactive idea generation and solutions to community affairs & communications processes when applicable HSE Roles and Responsibilities Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Actively participate in the HSE and Process Safety Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions. Roles may be operating in a professional office environment within or outside of an industrial plant environment. At times role may need to walk through areas of the facility.
