Call/Rotation schedule? Depending on site. Will they take an APP or SFA when applicable? Yes APP nocturnist needed Who should be the timesheet approver each week? What are expectations for orientation? ie shadow day? EMR training? EMR training done by facility shadow shift can be arranged if needed. Candidate Parameters Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? Has to be a PA or Acute Care NP Experience level? Preferred experience will take new grads at certain sites. Credentialing questions: Will emergency privileges be an option? no Are case logs needed? If so what are the requirements? Yes 12 months has to have inpatient encounters unless new grad. Hospital/unit questions Number of beds? Between 100-700 depending on site Census? Depending on site if at smaller hospital then 10 admits with cross cover of current inpatient census 70 patients physician is taking home call to field admit calls and forwards to APP on site to see. Bigger hospitals major responsibility is cross cover floor/icu calls for inpatient census and helping with 3-4 admits. How many daily admissions? Are there any consults and if so how many per day? What’s the patient population? Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? Varies by site What does the support staff look like? Bigger hospitals – physician on site. Smaller hospitals physician on call at home. How will follow up cases be handled? when applicable- inpatient or outpatient Specialty Specific Questions: Hospitalists What are the shift times? 7p-7a Is call involved?
