Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Hospitalist in Texas

Job Title: Physician Nocturnist Job Specialty: Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Job Duration: 12 Months Shift: Night Shift (7p-7a) Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Preferred experience, will consider new graduates at certain sites License: Certifications: Must-Have: PA or Acute Care NP certification Job Description: - Only nocturnists should apply; candidates must be comfortable working night shifts. - Recent departures have created the need for this position. - The schedule primarily involves on-site night shifts. - Coverage includes inpatient care with a focus on cross cover floor/ICU calls. - Expected to assist with 3-4 admissions per shift in larger hospitals. - In smaller hospitals, responsibilities include handling up to 10 admissions with additional cross cover duties. - Open ICU environment; however, no procedures or vent management required. - Support staff varies by site, with physician support available. - EMR training provided by the facility; a shadow shift can be arranged if necessary. - Candidates must provide case logs for the previous 12 months showing inpatient encounters unless they are new graduates. Additional Information: - No emergency privileges are offered. - Credentialing will require case logs demonstrating inpatient experience. - Open ICU responsibilities; daily census and patient acuity vary by site.
