This is a unique opportunity for a talented fundraising professional to help donors fulfill their philanthropic goals while supporting CCU's students and academic priorities. As Development Director, you'll be responsible for identifying new prospects, managing relationships with existing major gift donors, and securing significant contributions of $25,000 or more that advance the university's mission. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with donors, aligning their passions with the university's goals. Salary range: $56,210.00 (minimum) - $104,000.00 (maximum). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Duties Duties i nclude, but are not limited to: Manage and establish goal-setting priorities for an assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall fundraising objectives for Coastal Carolina University and optimizing efforts to maximize donor engagement and contributions. Secure financial support for a range of campus-wide priorities, including academic programs, endowed chairs, scholarships, program and unrestricted support, new facilities, and campus improvements. Travel regularly to meet with prospects and donors, cultivating relationships, identifying new opportunities for support, and advancing the university's fundraising goals. Provide strategic counsel and collaboration to the Office for Advancement and Alumni Relations staff on prospect management, offering insights and guidance to enhance fundraising strategies and outcomes. Participate actively in all stages of the gift cycle, from identifying prospects to stewardship, ensuring a comprehensive approach to donor engagement and retention. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and proven experience in major gift/development, donor relations, sales or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been acquired may be substituted. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in fundraising, sales, and/or marketing in higher education is preferred; Master's degree preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Incumbent must have the ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors to develop relationships between the donors and the fundraising priorities of the university through the development of excellent relationships with faculty senior academic leaders, trustees, volunteers, and the Office for Advancement and Alumni Engagement team. Applicant must have demonstrated initiative and self-discipline to successfully manage multi-functional or diverse areas. Critical skills include successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing cultivation and solicitation stages. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments is essential.
