Position: Concrete Surfacer (Finisher) Location: Nescopeck, PA Travel: open to regional travel We are currently looking for Concrete Finishers to join our Wagman Heavy Civil team, starting at our Nescopeck, PA project. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy highway and/or bridge construction, flatwork, carrying out concrete finishing operations on surfaces such as parapets, caps, columns, footings, deck slabs and more. Driver's license and reliable transportation are very helpful, must be able to work outdoors year round. This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction. This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor. Founded in 1902, as a heavy civil contractor, Wagman is a nationally recognized leader in the industry. Core competencies include: design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services. Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED preferred; can be replaced with relevant work experience Reliable transportation 3 years experience in Heavy Highway and/or bridge construction preferred Familiar with paving, concrete, highway and/or bridge construction and all other highway construction scopes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented Essential Functions: Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete parapets, caps, columns, footings, retaining walls, abutments, deck slabs and any other concrete structures to specified grade and texture. Use hand tools and power tools including but not limited to floats, trowels, edgers and screeds. Remove rough and defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or power chisel. Patch holes or defects with fresh concrete or epoxy compound. Wet and rub concrete with hand tools to get desired finish. May be temporarily assigned to carpenter or labor-type work to fill in between finishing duties Carry, load, unload and stack materials. Shovel, rake, spread and vibrate concrete into place. Climb embankments and ladders to carry material to various work sites on project as needed. Jackhammer and saw cut concrete. Clean up project site of debris. Physical Requirements of Essential Functions: Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout work shift.
