We are seeking a Director of Financial Operations to lead our Finance Team and to help continue to grow our impact across the planet Job Overview: Catholic World Mission is looking for an initiative seeker with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help build our organization to have an even greater impact around the world. The Director of Financial Operations should have a strong background in management with direct experience in accounting, finance, or a related field. It's important to have robust analytical skills necessary to understand complex data sets and effectively work with financial software programs. This person needs to have demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work with the Executive Director to help promote the Mission, Values, and Culture of Catholic World Mission. Duties and Responsibilities: Work with the Executive Director to design, implement, and manage internal financial controls and procedures to maximize efficiency and safeguard assets. Supervise and manage all financial operations such as invoicing, payroll, reporting, and other transactions to ensure 100% accuracy. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports when necessary. Monitor and reconcile bank and credit card statements, as well as other financial accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensure accuracy of all financial records and identify and resolve discrepancies. Prepare and present regular financial reports and analysis to the board, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and transparency. Oversee weekly revenue processing to ensure accuracy in reporting. Manage and oversee the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors. Partner with the Executive Director in the preparation and the submission of grant applications. Recommend cost-saving measures and identify funding opportunities. Provide leadership and support to the organization’s financial team, fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability. Monitor monthly cash flow, reduce expenses and implement cost saving solutions for business operations and budget maintenance. Review wires prepared by bookkeeper of disbursements to partners in fulfillment of Catholic World Mission's commitments in sponsoring projects. Review entries in QuickBooks by the bookkeeper to ensure 100% accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. Certification as a Certified Public Account (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) is preferred. Able to work independently as well as have a positive “team player” disposition. Flexibility in being able to pivot with changes in priorities.
