Associate Scientist

Location: Watertown, MA (100% onsite) Duration: 12 Month W2 Contract Overview: The Rare Disease Research team is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to support early-phase research for developing therapies for rare blood diseases. You will perform cell and molecular biology tasks, focusing on in vitro and ex vivo studies to identify new research targets. Key Responsibilities: Conduct mammalian cell culture, including isolation and differentiation of human hematopoietic cells. Process tissue samples (protein and mRNA) for bioassays. Generate and analyze data using techniques like qRT-PCR and enzyme assays. Optimize and troubleshoot bioassays. Maintain electronic lab notebooks and lab instruments. Prepare and present data packages. Participate in team meetings. Requirements: Master’s degree in Biology or related field with at least 2 years of lab experience (industry preferred). Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, especially with primary human hematopoietic cells. Familiarity with bioassays such as qPCR and flow cytometry. Strong understanding of cell and molecular biology principles. Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and document procedures thoroughly. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
