Assists with detailed review of sales tax returns and account reconciliations. Gathers information to prepare for sales tax audits. Assists with preparing responses related to sales tax audit findings. Coordinates acquisition due diligence related to resale certificates and taxability designations. Verifies sales tax rates monthly and update master files. Verifies customer tax jurisdiction set-up. Verifies status of resale certificates via state internet web sites and through other resources. Inputs and changes customer tax status. Coordinates with branch personnel to obtain updated resale certificates as needed. Prepares business license renewals. Prepares reports to process sales tax credits. Extracts general ledger information. Reconciles report discrepancies and problems. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline. 1 to 2 years of experience preparing and filing sales tax returns for a multi-state corporation. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong computer skills including use of MS Office programs.
