Who you are: Hospitality Quotient, an advisory arm within Union Square Hospitality Group, is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Business Development to spearhead growth initiatives for HQ, a digital learning platform designed to share the power of hospitality as a business differentiator with organizations and individuals alike. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Digital Innovation and collaborating with product, marketing, and content production teams, this role will own the planning and execution of go-to-market efforts and be accountable for accelerating business growth. The HQ Director of Business Development is a strategic, structured thinker, a process-driven and action-oriented operator, and a hospitality-minded individual with exceptional communication skills. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can work independently but thrives when interacting with people and is excited about the opportunity to cultivate a culture and extend Enlightened Hospitality to new HQ subscribers. What you’ll do: Cultivate a culture of Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth Oversee go-to-market strategy: Develop, own, and adapt a disciplined go-to-market plan that activates and establishes milestones and KPIs for Sales, Marketing, and Product functions for HQ. Analyze and prioritize B2B and B2C segments based on product-market fit and incorporate findings into the plan. Own pipeline management: Leveraging structured processes and an attention to detail, manage the HQ prospect pipeline. Identify resources needed to facilitate sales efforts (e.g., product demonstrations, FAQs, case studies, etc.) and drive development in partnership with Marketing and Product. Drive business development: Own outbound sales efforts and manage inbound interest by engaging with prospects through live meetings, calls, and emails to discover if HQ is a fit for their needs. Develop targeted outreach strategies and creative engagement tactics to drive new customer acquisition, while conducting market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitors, and new opportunities at both the industry and customer level. Manage prospect and client relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospective partners. Hone a clear understanding of client needs and challenges. Represent the USHG and HQ culture of hospitality in all interactions and convey deep understanding of the Enlightened Hospitality philosophy. Collaborate with cross-functional peers: Build and sustain strong relationships with partners in Product, Marketing, and Finance. Create accountability for delivery against key go-to-market milestones and provide support where needed. Facilitate feedback loop from prospects and customers to Marketing and Product to ensure both HQ (both platform and content) and its marketing messages continue to resonate with customers. Manage strategic partnerships: Identify potential channel partners and develop a mutually beneficial strategy to activate these partnerships. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and explore creative ways to Extend Enlightened Hospitality to new customer segments. Oversee performance of channel partnerships and identify improvement opportunities. Own go-to-market performance: Develop sales and marketing scorecard (in partnership with relevant functions) and own its regular review, including evaluation of performance against targets as well as strategy development to execute against opportunities. Consider data including and beyond revenue growth, related to marketing reach and effectiveness, sales pipeline and growth, customer satisfaction, and more. Influence product roadmap: Actively gather, analyze, and leverage feedback from customer engagements to inform the product roadmap. Collaborate with Product to build a strong case for new features and prioritize improvements that align with customer needs and enhance platform value. Perform additional responsibilities as needed and other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational success.
