The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding the entrepreneurial ecosystem, with a focus on the local region and broader state initiatives. This includes overseeing the operations of the innovation partnership, leading the university's entrepreneurial efforts, and supervising various business innovation units. The Executive Director will be responsible for coaching and managing the team, maintaining a CRM database, and enhancing engagement processes. They will also be expected to stay updated on best practices, develop business incubation programs, and work closely with internal and external partners to support entrepreneurial and business development programs. Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Master's degree in business or a related field, or a certification as an entrepreneurship center director. A minimum of 5 years' experience in developing industry partnerships and supporting entrepreneurial activities is required. The role demands a candidate with a strong background in startup governance, business and financial modeling, and strategic planning. Preferred qualifications include a Project Management Certification and a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant discipline. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a C-Level corporate position or a successful startup exit, and experience with business support programs. The role requires excellent communication, organizational, and human relations skills, as well as the ability to represent the business innovation group and the university in various professional settings.
