Position Information Position Title Systems Security & Analysis Instructor Announcement Summary Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time position in Information Technology-Systems Security & Analysis. The program is recognized as a Center of Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. Duties Primary duties include classroom/laboratory instructional duties in Systems Security and Analysis courses which include, but not limited to: -Basic Security Concepts -Perimeter Defense -Intrusion Detection -Linux Administration -Packet Analysis -Compliance and Standards -Networking -Routing/Switching -Network Security Must be willing to teach classes to High School students. Candidate will utilize Blackboard, the College's Leaning Management System, for course content and delivery as well as develop and support student success strategies that align with the Systems Security & Analysis Department's program objectives and course outcomes. Teach face-to-face classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus. Teach online classes as needed by the Department. Must be willing to teach security classes to High School students. Incorporate latest instructional technologies & interactive learning technologies in course delivery. Additional Duties: -Assist in program recruitment. -Advise and register students who are in the program. -Monitor and improve student retention. -Maintain class records. -Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, outlines, and lesson plans. -Evaluate classroom and online instruction and make necessary improvements. -Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff. -Continually develop and improve skills through professional development. -Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned. -Assist the department with the high school curriculum and students. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Information Technology, Information Assurance, Network Administration, or related field. Technical certification required: Security CE Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat management, risk assessment, and system hardening. Proficiency in managing, securing, and troubleshooting networks. Experience with security-related software tools, such as ForeScout, Nessus, Palo Alto, Splunk, tcpdump, or Wireshark. Experience with Cisco routers, switches, ASAs, or similar hardware/technology. Preferred Requirements Master's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Information Technology, Industrial Technology with a concentration in Cyber Security, Information Assurance, Network Administration, or related field. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity, networking, or related fields. Previous teaching experience in higher education or industry training. Technical certifications preferred: CCNA, CySA, Network, Linux, RHCSA, CCNP, Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional Cyber Security related certifications such as CEH, CASP, CISSP, GIAC/GFACT/GSEC/GCIH or similar.
