Immigration Attorney - Virginia

Portner & Shure is a busy immigration, personal injury, and criminal defense firm in Maryland and Virginia. We are searching for an experienced immigration attorney for our Virginia office. The candidate must be familiar with family petitions, asylum cases, SIJS, U-Visas, waivers (including I-601A, I-601, I-212), H1B visas, cancellation of removal, Deportation, TN Visas, H1B employment petitions, eligibility under § 241(i), and employment petitions. Immigration Attorney Job Responsibilities: Coordinate case and legal strategies. Manage various projects and deadlines. Negotiate, prepare, and revise documents. Explain legal language to clients. Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions. Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect immigration. Develop solutions to complex legal questions. Prepare motions, court filings and immigration related forms and be able to prepare clients for asylum interviews and court hearings Attend master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and individual/merits hearings. Immigration Attorney Requirements: JD Degree Active Virginia Bar License (in good standing) Have excellent writing skills Spanish required Compensation and Benefits: The total compensation for this immigration attorney position ranges from $100,000 Portner & Shure provides an excellent benefits package.
