Associate General Counsel

Job Opportunity: Associate General Counsel – Solar Energy Location: Los Angeles, CA (In-Office Role) Experience Level: 3–8 years We are a private equity-backed solar developer seeking an experienced and motivated Associate General Counsel to join our team in Los Angeles. This is an in-office position, and candidates must be based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate. Key Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, including: Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Agreements Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Agreements Provide legal counsel for project financing, including structuring and negotiating debt and equity transactions. Collaborate with internal teams to support solar project development and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Advise senior leadership on risk management and contractual obligations. Manage relationships with external counsel as needed to support the company’s legal needs. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in California. 3–8 years of legal experience, preferably with a focus on renewable energy, transactional law, or project finance. Demonstrated expertise in solar-related agreements (PPAs, EPCs, O&Ms). Strong understanding of financing structures for solar projects, including debt and equity financing. Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Must be based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate, with the ability to work on-site at our office.
