Staff Accountant

We are partnering with a dynamic, growing company located in the heart of Chicago's Loop to find a skilled Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has advanced Excel skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment. Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger. Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies. Assist in month-end close and financial reporting. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes. Prepare financial statements and assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Perform variance analysis and provide insights to senior accounting staff. Assist with internal and external audits. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial goals and business operations. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required). 2 years of accounting experience in a professional setting (public accounting experience is a plus). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, advanced formulas, data analysis). Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) a plus.
