JOB DESCRIPTION: Technology Low Voltage Designer / Senior BIM MODELER Position Status: Full-time, Hourly, and At Will. The Technology Low Voltage Designer / Senior BIM Modeler position supports Engineers, Project Managers, and Design Consultants throughout project development and the design process, focusing on integrating technology and structured cabling into building design services. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Utilize REVIT MEP to perform modeling tasks to generate construction documents as assigned by Engineers and Project Managers. Coordinate with IT and security teams to incorporate technology and infrastructure needs into building models, including structured cabling and network design elements. Support Engineers and Consultants in designing layouts for technology systems, security infrastructure, and structured cabling. Communicate directly with the project team to coordinate conflicts and discrepancies during the design process. Identify and resolve potential clashes between MEP disciplines, technology systems, and other trades. Collaborate with Architects, consultants, and technology specialists to align project needs and timelines and ensure the integration of IT, security, and structured cabling requirements. Required Skills/Abilities: Minimum three years of experience in an architectural/engineering design field, with additional expertise in technology systems or IT infrastructure preferred. Proven capabilities and expertise in AutoCAD, REVIT MEP, and content creation. Providing high-quality drawings. Setting up projects in Revit and working within existing models, including technology and cabling components. Modifying and creating details, particularly for structured cabling and IT systems. Spatial coordination between disciplines, including technology and security integration. Modifying and creating families for technology and structured cabling components. Utilizing filters for various design layers, including technology infrastructure. Experience with Masterworks, Mail Manager, FTP functions, and file management. Knowledge of BIM 360, including cloud modeling and project setup for secure, collaborative design work. Familiarity with Levels of Development (LOD) standards and how they apply to technology and security modeling. Proficiency in submittal reviews, ensuring all technology, security, and cabling components meet project standards. Skilled in file management and folder structure. Proficiency in Navisworks for project management, conflict detection, and resolution, including coordination of IT and security system components. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam for documentation and project coordination. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with Engineers, Architectural clients, and IT and security consultants promptly and professionally. Ability to work effectively under pressure with varying priorities and deadlines. Flexible hours and a willingness to work overtime to meet project deadlines. Advanced problem-solving skills related to design and technology integration. Ability to take project design to 75% completion with minimal direction. Education and Experience: Degree or certification in Computer-Aided Drafting and Modeling, focusing on building design services and an understanding of technology and IT infrastructure systems.
