Staff Packaging Engineer

Role: Staff Packaging Engineer Salary: 125k-135k/yr Location: Rochester, NY Type: perm 4 days a week fully onsite Monday - Thursday Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered. • Minimum 8 years of industry experience • Proficiency with packaging industry design and test standards (ISTA, ASTM, etc.) • Knowledge of sterile barrier packaging and sterilization processes • Strong understanding of medical device packaging, manufacturing practices, and test methods • Experience with packaging equipment process qualifications and project qualification activities • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CAD software (Solidworks, ArtiosCAD) • Container leak testing experience • Strong analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills Job Description Responsibilities: • Lead packaging design and development for new products, including sustainable solutions • Develop and apply engineering design guides and standards • Ensure manufacturability of designs and collaborate with Engineering for equipment and fixture procurement • Support and develop consistent manufacturing and quality standards • Design product labels to customer requirements
