Job description Job Title: Yard Jockey / Forklift Operator Location: Statesville, NC Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Pay: $17.00 per hour Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Jockey / Forklift Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving trailers, loading/unloading goods using a forklift, and assisting with shipping and receiving operations. You will ensure a smooth workflow in the yard while maintaining safety and organization in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Move and position trailers in the yard using a yard jockey truck. Load and unload trailers with a forklift, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently. Assist in the shipping and receiving process, ensuring shipments are properly documented and stored. Inspect trailers and forklift equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Maintain organization in the yard, ensuring trailers and equipment are parked and stored properly. Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to meet shipping deadlines. Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies at all times. Qualifications: Prior experience as a yard jockey, forklift operator, or in a similar role is preferred. Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification). Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
