As a Supply Chain Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the supply chain process within the organization. Your primary objective will be to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain operations, ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution. Your strategic vision and leadership will drive the development and implementation of innovative supply chain strategies to achieve cost reduction, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive overall business growth.

Job Summary:

Optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain operations.

Create and lead a strategic vision for innovative supply chain strategies.

Plan, manage, organize, coordinate, and control all purchasing and subcontract elements.

Manage material management activities across multiple locations.

Maintain positive vendor relations with all suppliers.

Supply Chain Strategy

Develop and execute the organization’s supply chain strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.

Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in the supply chain process.

Set goals, KPIs, and metrics to measure supply chain success.

Procurement and Supplier Management

Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.

Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize sourcing strategies.

Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes.

Manage, perform, and/or approve Cost and Price Analyses.

Logistics and Transportation Management

Oversee transportation operations for timely and cost-effective delivery.

Monitor transportation costs and implement optimization strategies.

Inventory Management

Develop inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels.

Implement demand forecasting and inventory planning techniques.

Team Leadership and Development

Lead a diverse supply chain team across multiple locations.

Mentor and develop team members.

Performance Analysis and Continuous Improvement

Establish a system for tracking and analyzing key supply chain metrics.

Identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancements.

Education Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferable.

Experience Requirement:A minimum of ten years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or related field with at least five years in a defense industry manufacturing environment.

Thorough knowledge of the procurement process for commercial, international, and U.S. Government contracts.

Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and industry trends.
