West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over four decades. Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and includes a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, and adults. Director of Plant Operations
to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the development, organization, and management of the facility and grounds including Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Safety. The Director of Plant Operations ensures duties are performed in a systematic and timely manner in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and applicable regulatory/accreditation rules and guidelines resulting in a well-maintained and patient/employee safe behavioral healthcare facility. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Directs all activities and staff pertaining to safety, grounds and building maintenance; housekeeping; dietary; security; and transportation and parking services in accordance with pertinent standards, regulations, and policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with pertinent healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA, and contractual work specifications; and oversees emergency facilities operational initiatives and plans. Oversees all construction projects and any work performed by outside vendors and contractors, while assuring that all work performed meets fire and safety codes. Maintains documentation for various regulatory agencies such as JC, TDH, City of Houston, and Fire Marshall. Assures that OSHA guidelines and hospital safety policies are being followed. Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field. Education may be substituted with experience on a year-to-year basis. Licensure and Certification:
Required: Valid Texas Drivers License. Experience: Required:
Seven years of experience in facilities management or related field. Preferred: Experience in JC readiness and surveys in a psychiatric setting. Knowledge of HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory codes regarding Fire and Life Safety codes, building, and engineering codes. Experience communicating and managing staff and projects.
