This position reports to the Dean of the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers-Newark. The Director will oversee the administration and operations of the Debate Program, manage budget and staff, and ensure a welcoming environment for students and stakeholders.This position is responsible for:Designing and coordinating communication and marketing efforts to engage current and prospective students.Planning and executing multi-media communication and programming to build community within the Debate Program.Utilizing resources to showcase the Debate Program to the university community and public.Evaluating program effectiveness and identifying additional resources.Leading on-site program evaluations and preparing recommendations for the Dean.Liaising with institutions and agencies to assess program requirements and innovations.Coordinating event publicity and fundraising efforts.Providing information and advising students on policies and processes of the Debate Program.Maintaining knowledge of program coordination practices and debate concepts.Multitasking in a fast-paced, customer-service-focused environment.Position Status: Full TimeQualifications:Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in program design and execution.Minimum of two years relevant administrative experience, including coordination and management.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in political science, public policy, public administration, or communications.At least four years of collegiate debate experience, including two years of coaching experience.Physical Demands:Must possess a valid driver's license.Posting Number: 24ST2105Posting Open Date: 09/24/2024Pre-employment screenings are required.Rutgers is an equal opportunity employer.
