Job Summary: The Director of Dining Services is the strategic business leader of the community’s food and beverage/culinary operation ensuring resident and client satisfaction by providing a consistently high-quality product and best-in-class hospitality, while also meeting financial goals and driving a positive work environment. You will oversee the development and implementation of departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the Compass Community Living’s service strategy as well as be the face of the company. Responsibilities: Leading Food & Beverage Operation: Develop and implement overall operating strategy aligned with Compass Community Living’s business strategy. Maintain a professional and positive demeanor during stressful periods and adapt as needed. Perform daily walk-through to ensure compliance with health regulations and standards. Conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs. Ensure ongoing communication in all areas of food and beverage. Advise and update relevant personnel in a timely manner. Business and Financial Competence: Understand market dynamics and align actions to drive business results. Recognize P&L drivers and develop plans to deliver expected results. Develop overall budget and operate the account in accordance with it. Coach team to manage wages, food & beverage costs, and controllable expenses. Review financial reports to determine performance against budget. Work with team to improve financial performance. Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service: Understand client’s business model to prioritize resident needs. Build and maintain relationships within the community. Review resident satisfaction results and take corrective actions as needed. Communicate with individuals to understand resident needs. Stay aware of market trends and introduce new products. Empower employees to provide excellent service. Team Building & Management: Lead team member meetings regularly. Create a positive work environment and motivate team members. Establish performance and budget goals. Solicit employee feedback and address concerns. Coach and mentor team members to achieve their potential. Hire food & beverage leadership team members with strong expertise. Preferred Qualifications: B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related experience preferred. Five to seven years of direct foodservice operational management experience. Strong knowledge of food and catering trends. Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable. Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs. ServSafe Certified. Apply to Unidine today!
