PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Continuous Improvement Director will be responsible for creating, supporting, and driving improvement efforts tied to the company’s most critical goals and processes. Additionally, this role will build out lean capabilities across the organization and champion the lean mindset. The goal is to positively impact results and culture by adopting best -in-class problem-solving methods.

This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, develop strategies, and execute projects that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and a passion for fostering a culture of excellence.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.

Lead cross-functional teams in identifying, analyzing, and solving operational challenges using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Drive a culture of innovation by encouraging employee engagement and input in improvement initiatives.

Conduct regular assessments of processes to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.

Prepare and present reports to senior management on the progress of continuous improvement initiatives and their impact on business performance.

Coach and develop team members at all levels of the organization to become lean practitioners, with an emphasis not only on lean tools, but also on key lean principles and Leadership behaviors.

Lead and performance manage a team, ensuring regular coaching and feedback.

Lead and oversee interplant technical transfers.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on continuous improvement methodologies.

Proven track record of successfully leading continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment, healthcare preferred.

Experience leading technical transfers in a complex or pharmaceutical environment.

Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools and techniques.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.

Experience with project management and process mapping tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels in the organization.

Strategic Improvement Deployment:

Align and deploy continuous improvement strategies with company objectives, ensuring initiatives are prioritized for maximum impact on operational performance.

Work closely with senior leadership to drive strategy deployment and ensure alignment with business goals and metrics.

Establish clear KPIs and tracking mechanisms to monitor progress, adjust initiatives, and ensure accountability at all levels.

Kaizen Events and Productive Maintenance Programs:

Plan and facilitate Kaizen events to foster continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

Implement productive maintenance programs, emphasizing preventive maintenance to reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and optimize performance.

Partner with maintenance and operations teams to establish a data-driven approach to asset care and reliability.

Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP):

Lead and support SIOP processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of production, inventory, and demand forecasts.

Drive improvements in inventory management, lead times, and capacity planning to support efficient and reliable production flows.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Minimum Bachelors Degree in Operations Management, Industrial/Process Engineering, or equivalent.

Master Black Belt Preferred
