Hunter's Precision Pharmacy is a closed-door pharmacy, specializing in Mental Health. We provide prescriptions and other services for our clients all over the state of Oklahoma and Arkansas. Prescription services are provided for Community Mental Health Centers, Mental Health Treatment Services and Mental Health Residential Care Facilities.  Independently owned and operated. Established in 2006.



Job Description 

The Data Entry Pharmacy Technician will ensure that medication orders received from clients are entered promptly and accurately into the company pharmacy software program.  It is the job of all technicians in the Data Entry area to be aware of incoming phone calls and to participate in answering calls in a timely manner.  Data Entry Pharmacy Technician will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

 

Shift and Hours

  • Full Time, Monday thru Friday 9am – 6pm
  • Part Time at the discretion of the company and upon company needs
  • Schedules, including the days of week, are subject to change upon shift or customer needs.

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Input orders in a timely and accurate manner using the company pharmacy software program.
  • Verify all information is complete in accordance with the most current version of the Oklahoma Pharmacy Law Book.
  • Update patient profile with necessary information from prescription, ensuring that patients allergies, therapies and current medications are updated.
  • Sort and deliver prescription orders to appropriate departments / fill areas.
  • Communicate with clients / facilities to alert them to any issues during the data entry process including any known inventory shortage, special order or recall.
  • Assist with finding lost or missed orders on request.
  • Respond accurately to client inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assist in answering incoming calls. Direct caller as per their request or take a written message and deliver upon completion of call.
  • Assist pharmacists with other tasks and duties as needed.
  • Other irregularly occurring duties as needed to ensure efficient operation of the data entry and filling areas of the pharmacy.

 

Skills

  • Ability to analyze, read and interpret doctor’s orders.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible.
  • Frequent use of basic math skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; this may include using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Intermediate typing / keyboarding skills
  • Familiarity with brand/generic drug names and general pharmacy terminology
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess good customer service skills.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy Technician Permit preferred without disciplinary restrictions.
  • 1+ years’ experience in Data Entry in a retail pharmacy setting / Long Term Care pharmacy preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy computer software programs
  • Must complete required Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy Technician training according to the standards of the board.
  • Must complete any other job-related training that may occur.
  • Must complete annual HIPPA training.
  • Technician must abide by all state and federal laws regarding the appropriate labeling and dispensing of prescription medications.
  • Must know, understand and follow HIPPA regulations.
  • Ability to work agreed upon schedule.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to type & look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting of file boxes, computer paper, computer prescription labels or other work-related supplies to perform job.

Work Environment

A Data Entry Pharmacy Technician can expect fast paced work that is repetitive in a closed-door pharmacy setting.  Technician must be able to handle multiple tasks (data entry, answering telephone, filing etc.) while meeting a daily deadline to assure all scripts are entered, filled and packaged for next day delivery.
