About the Position:
You will serve as Chief, Construction Division responsible to the District Engineer for managing a large, complex and diverse program. This job is also advertised under announcement number CERI246079827359 (time limited assignment). Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in architecture or in a related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems. B. Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. Basic Requirement for Civil (0810), Mechanical Engineering (0830), and Electrical Engineering (0850): A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering from an ABET-accredited program. B. Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding of the engineering sciences and techniques. In addition to meeting one of the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes managing and directing construction engineering staff, at the Branch level or higher, engaged in Civil Works planning, design and construction/hydrographic surveys, construction contract administration, in any or all of the following engineering programs: flood and storm damage reduction, environmental protection and restoration, regulatory, hydropower, water supply and support for other programs; AND Military Projects construction for Army and Air Force installations involving large family housing facilities, multi-storied hospitals, barracks complexes, administration facilities, etc. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:
This position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) or a Registered Architect (RA). You MUST submit a copy of your current and valid PE/RA license with your application. The expiration date on your license must be after the date you submit this application. Failure to meet this requirement will result in your application not receiving consideration for this position.
