We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Data Analyst Intern to support data collection, transformation, and analysis efforts. The intern will assist in the data mining, statistical evaluations, and predictive analytics processes to support science research initiatives and provide actionable insights to various levels of government leadership.

General Duties:
• Data Collection and Transformation:
o Collect, enter, review, document, inspect, clean, and transform data into usable information for various levels of government leadership.
o Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the data processing cycle.
• Data Mining and Statistical Evaluation:
o Assist in data mining, data fusion, and statistical evaluations to identify patterns, trends, and insights from various datasets.
o Support the use of advanced statistical methods to analyze large datasets.
• Statistical Modeling and Simulations:
o Assist in performing statistical modeling, simulations, and predictive analytics to support science research projects.
o Use statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS) to perform simulations and generate models for scientific studies.
• Reporting and Presentations:
o Help prepare reports, visualizations, and presentations that summarize data findings and insights for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Collaboration and Support:
o Collaborate with internal teams to define data needs, assist with data processing, and contribute to decision-making processes through data insights.
Qualifications:
• Educational Background:
o Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field and active enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
o Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) and statistical modeling techniques.
o Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
o Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data-related tools.
• Analytical and Detail-Oriented:
o Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing and processing data.
o Ability to clean and preprocess data, ensuring data integrity.
• Communication and Teamwork:
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to work collaboratively with team members and assist in presenting data insights.
