About This Role
The Sr Director, Insights and Analytics Lead – Alzheimer’s, will support the Specialty franchise by objectively defining and evaluating brand performance, enabling data-driven decisions, and proactively delivering actionable insights. This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to innovate and evolve Biogen’s industry-leading portfolio, improving patient outcomes for millions. Responsibilities include insights and analytics, including primary marketing research, secondary analytics, forecasting guidance, and competitive intelligence. As the key partner to commercial and marketing leadership, you will help identify & address the most important business problems facing the franchise. This role will partner directly with North America Leadership team members and Heads of Marketing, as well as functional leaders such as IT, to ensure a thorough understanding of our business insight needs, our data landscape, and how we leverage data to answer business questions efficiently and agilely. Additionally, this role will lead the development of performance narrative and generation of insights supporting US brand / franchise strategy in collaboration with the franchise lead, brand lead, and (as appropriate) Global stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage the relationship with Franchise Leadership Team
Drive insights agenda: Scope, lead, and deliver cross-functional projects across core insights functions, including market research, forecasting support, competitive intelligence, brand analytics, and field analytics
Deliver high quality ad hoc analyses to leadership that offer clear recommendations in support of brand strategy
Proactively provide actionable insights to key stakeholders for both short term resource allocation decision and long-term strategy development
Collaborate with Advanced Analytics and Orchestration team and other Business Intelligence and Operations (BIO) teams to support initiatives to guide brand strategy and execution
Lead Integrated Customer Plan (ICP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for CD&I, and provide commercial team with comprehensive performance, target audience, and market insights to support strategy & resource investment
Cultivate strong relationships and effective ways of working within MS Marketing team and amongst cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, etc.), building consensus/buy-in amongst teams
Manage insights spend to allocated budget; pursue novel research methodologies that offer new capabilities and ways to optimize project efficiency
Partner effectively with leadership to ensure that key business decisions are based on data/fact-based analysis
Drive innovation in analytics and business execution to have impact on the business performance and investment strategy

Communication – Ability to deliver information & recommendations succinctly in verbal and written communications/deliverables; able to distill complex analyses into meaningful insights and conclusions for executive audiences
Executive Presence – High comfort in delivering and defending analyses/ recommendations to senior management
High Customer-Orientation – Acts as a service partner to marketing, sales and other functional teams
Collaboration – Able to collaborate effectively with various functional partners to probe/ask questions, gather required information for analyses, and participate as a value-added cross-functional partner
Deals Well with Ambiguity / Intensity – Operates well in a fast-paced environment driven by senior leadership requests and evolving business needs
Independence – Able to manage workload with limited guidance; effective managing to expectations and ability to scope/prioritize work with relatively high independence
Qualifications
Experience Required:
Minimum 15+ years relevant experience with a life sciences company or consulting firm supporting the healthcare industry
Consulting background strongly preferred
Solid understanding of commercial business and industry standard datasets – script (IQVIA, Symphony, etc.), Patient (Specialty Pharmacies/Distributors), and Managed Care (Symphony, etc.).
Strong analytical and quantitative skill set, including Excel modeling skills
Excellent strategic thinking capabilities with ability to synthesize large amounts of information and logically structure PowerPoint deliverables
Strong communication and project management skills
Driven, highly self-motivated, confident, high-energy individual
Deep understanding of our business; the opportunities, risks, headwinds and competition, and dynamics across the market including revenue and demand dynamics that influence forecasting, marketing, and other commercial approaches
Ability to drive change management/ organizational transformation through collaboration and lateral leadership.
Results Oriented – Delivers high impact and value in projects and initiatives.
Successful track record working in complex matrix environments with a preference for global experience
Bachelor's Degree Required; MBA or Advanced Scientific Degree Preferred
