Head of Circulation
to lead and manage our circulation team. This role involves overseeing daily circulation activities, guiding staff, and helping patrons navigate library services. General Duties: Supervises library clerks and pages, and ensures all work assignments are completed. Settles problems arising from late, damaged, or lost materials. Provides training for newly hired library clerks and pages. Communicates with the Library Director regarding circulation policies and procedures. Performs routine circulation desk duties as necessary and needed. Responsible for the appearance and order of the Technical Services Area and the Circulation Desk. Evaluates circulation operating procedures, and makes adjustments as needed with the Director to improve efficiency. Catalogs and processes library materials. Repairs books and items as needed. Uses Sierra tools to maintain collection and records as needed. Assists library circulation staff in delivering consistently great customer service. Assists patrons with issues and questions at the circulation desk. Assists patrons with tech help as needed. Troubleshoots technical issues with technology used by circulation desk staff. Actively participates in the library’s collection development program through donation selection, weeding, and special projects as necessary. Oversees the Interlibrary Loan program. Creates and maintains staff schedule. Creates and distributes weekly staff newsletter. Engages in sustainable practices while in the workplace and works towards the library’s sustainability goals. Performs other duties, as assigned. Participates in library special projects as required or as necessary. Hours:
Full-time, 35 hours / week (days, evenings, some weekends required). Supervised by:
Library Director Compensation:
