Public Health Advocacy Why consider this job opportunity: Salary range up to $65,000 based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including 3 weeks of annual vacation leave and additional holiday leave 8 weeks of paid parental leave Excellent medical and dental insurance with significant employer contribution ½ day Fridays, allowing for a 36-hour workweek Opportunity to work in a hybrid environment or remotely within the United States What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): Draft letters, fact sheets, reports, and other written materials to support advocacy campaigns Conduct policy research, tracking federal bills and agency activities Perform scientific literature reviews to inform policy positions Mobilize support for campaigns from various stakeholders, including health professionals and concerned citizens Collaborate with the Senior Policy Scientist to refine the vision and work plan for the initiative What is Required (Qualifications): Advanced degree in epidemiology or a related public health discipline (e.g., MPH) Experience with public health policy and advocacy, particularly with FDA regulations Strong written communication skills, capable of producing high-quality materials with minimal editing Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and research databases, such as PubMed How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): Experience interpreting scientific public health research and translating findings for various audiences Demonstrated commitment to transparency and scientific rigor in previous work Experience working collaboratively across teams in a positive and inclusive culture
