The Edwards Lifesciences’ Corporate Development group is seeking a candidate to support the execution of a broad variety of strategic transactions including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, IP/Technology licenses, and partnerships. A successful candidate will support the long-term growth strategy of the company through the assessment, evaluation, structuring, negotiation and completion of potential transactions. How you will make an impact: Leading corporate development projects from start to finish, including assessing potential targets, making recommendations, structuring and negotiating the agreements, and coordinating integration efforts. Executing corporate development projects with highest criticality including identifying and vetting of strategic partnerships and/or acquisitions including strategic fit and financial impact. Synthesizing information from multiple sources to generate insights and recommendations on business development strategies and opportunities for Edwards. Building financial models to assess market opportunities and potential technology investments as a basis for go-no go strategic decisions. Preparing monthly briefing materials for executive management and the Board of Directors. Contributing to Edwards Corporate Development pipeline. Coordinating due diligence efforts including the collection and dissemination of diligence materials. Preparing and analyzing alternative deal structuring options. Coordinating the preparation of definitive agreement schedules. Identifying value creation/synergies and developing integration roadmaps with relevant business unit, functional and regional stakeholders. What you will need (required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field. Minimum of 14 years of previous related experience or minimum of 12 years of related experience and a Master’s degree. Experience in Business Development, Corporate Development, investment banking, strategy consulting, venture capital or a related field. Experience negotiating deals within a Global / Corporate environment. Experience managing post-merger integrations. What else we look for (preferred): Experience working in a regulated industry. Experience in medical devices and/or healthcare along with a deep clinical/technical knowledge of the structural heart disease market. Experience in capital markets. Experience in financial analysis, strategy, strategic marketing, and international/global markets. Demonstrated successful track record in negotiating and overseeing R&D focused, business development projects in the healthcare industry. Proven successful project management leadership skills. Ability to build high-trust relationships with external stakeholders including VC firms, private equity, entrepreneurs and other sources of innovation. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making. Leverages negotiation and interpersonal relationship skills to drive achievement of objectives while interfacing with all levels within an organization, including CEO and senior executives. Ability to work and excel within a fast-paced, matrixed, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment. For California, the base pay range for this position is $199,000 to $282,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
