Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for the loading of will call customers and the loading/unloading of steel, rebar and other construction materials for the Rio Grande Co. You will provide support for a wide variety of warehouse duties, while always maintaining a safe working environment. This position is non-supervisory role and reports to the Operations Manager.
In addition, you will:
- Receive/Load shipments, while verifying accuracy of materials
- Move parts and materials with a forklift and by hand
- Ability to assist customers, load delivery trucks and stock materials
- Performance various housekeeping tasks to ensure work areas are clean and free of safety hazards
- Responsible for informing members of the leadership team of shortages, overages or damaged materials
- Work cooperatively with fellow team members to accomplish warehouse/parts goals
- Responsible for the loading of will call customers.
- Responsible for the loading/unloading of rebar and incoming freight.

- Responsible for general yard/warehouse cleanliness and safety in the yard.

Job Requirements
- Basic familiarity with light industrial equipment and materials including residential and commercial constructions materials such as rebar, steel, concrete and other construction materials
- A minimum of 1-year experience working in a warehouse, is preferred
- A minimum of 1-year experience driving a forklift, is preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license, with a safe driving history
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or GED preferred
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- All other duties assigned
Constant = 75 – 100% of the time; Frequent = 50 – 75% of the time; Occasional = 25 – 50% of the time; Rare = less than 25% of the time
Work Environment:
- Constant work performed outdoors with potential exposure to natural weather elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow and dust.
- Frequent work operating a forklift
- Constant work performed while standing, walking, bending, lifting and climbing on/off of semi-truck beds
- Frequent exposure to fumes, such as diesel, propane and paint.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stop, and kneel
