Job Summary

Position Summary:

The warehouse supervisor primary job responsibility is to oversee warehouse employees, drivers and service personnel and ensure that the daily operations (pulling, packing, keying locks, delivery of products, etc.) are done in an appropriate timeframe and accurate.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures warehouse and field employees work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Move parts and materials with a forklift and by hand.
  • Ability to assist customers, load delivery trucks and stock materials.
  • Perform various housekeeping tasks to ensure work areas are clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Responsible for informing members of the purchasing team of shortages, overages, or damaged materials.
  • Oversee and process outgoing UPS/FedEx small package and LTL outgoing shipments.
  • Create daily delivery routes for material delivery and dispatch vehicles accordingly.
  • Orient and train new employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Review the daily workload and ensure all will be completed in a timely manner, to minimize overtime.
  • Oversee and help with receiving of material as well as the returning of material.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Make sure it is properly laid out, so workflow is maximized.
  • Fleet management- ensure all vehicles are safe and have proper daily maintenance checks done.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

 

  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisor experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail

Working Conditions

Constant = 75 – 100% of the time; Frequent = 50 – 75% of the time; Occasional = 25 – 50% of the time; Rare = less than 25% of the time

 

Work Environment:

  • Frequent work performed in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Occasional work performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse as well as exposed to the elements out on construction sites.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent work performed in a sedentary position.
  • Occasional work performed while standing.
  • Occasional ability to lift, bend, stop, and kneel.
  • Rare- Non CDL driving.
