What you will be doing?
The Warehouse Associate will work in a various number of positions contained within the warehouse of the company. To start your career, you will be in the shipping department to assist in getting product out timely with accuracy and attention to detail. This position is responsible for performing and controlling a combination of manual and automated tasks that are necessary for the receipt, storage, and processing of a product within a warehouse setting. These tasks may include various functions ranging from, the picking and packing of inventories items or bins, delivery, staging, transporting, of product all contributing to the efficient flow of aerospace fastener products to production line point of use areas.
Shipping
- Prepare pallets and freight
- Use pallet jacks to move product
- Prepare Bill of Ladings (BOL)
- Create Commercial Invoices for international shipments.
- Weigh parts and boxes to get net weight for costs.
- Create shipping labels and tracking numbers.
- Use customer portals for advance shipping notices (ASN’s) as necessary.
- Inspect orders for correct routing, quantities, and destinations.
- Process product shipping requirements in an ERP system.
- Prioritize assigned customer shipments by due date
Receiving
- Use scales to validate quantities of products received.
- Scan validated items received are automatically entered into the ERP system for put away.
- Verify documents and certificates are with products received.
- Maintain and verify accurate inventory and cycle counts.
Kitting
- Validate materials and separate according to specifications.
- Manage products and materials efficiently.
- Build various types of customer kits using general tools and packaging.
- Deliver completed kits to final inspection for review and shipment.
Pick Pack
- Maintain and replenish materials as necessary.
- Scan barcode to ensure items are ordered for replenishment.
- Scan items into SAP with hand scanners.
- Work with tools, scales, and boxes
- Packing of boxes and picking out materials as shown in the system or similar duties
- Locate lost or missing parts.
- Process POD and Cross docs
- Process 99’s given 3 times each day.
- Handle and process special packages.
All Position Must:
- Maintain clean and neat work areas.
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
What skills and qualifications do you need?
Education/Experience:
- High School Education or equivalent
- 1-year minimum experience in similar warehouse shipping environment or industry
- Hands-on experience with stocking, labelling, and organizing products for delivery.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of databases
- Knowledge of warehouse processes and procedures
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems
Skills:
- Data entry skills
- Basic Excel skills (Filters and Sum's)
- Entry level computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Basic math skills
- Demonstrated material handling including packaging and shipping.
- Able to use warehouse equipment and tools.
- Accurately perform operational tasks assigned accurately, timely, and error-free
- Clear and concise documentation skills
- Good organizational skills
- Dependability and reliability
Work Requirements
- Able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, maintain adequate pace and execution of duties.
- Work in an area of varying floor levels and uneven walking areas
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
