Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has helped more than 75,000 young adults in San Francisco with outreach, shelter, housing, education, employment, healthcare, and other services. Today, Larkin Street Youth Services is the largest provider of housing and services to homeless youth in the Bay Area. We serve 1,500 youth annually, operating or partnering to provide more than 500 emergency shelter, transitional, supportive, and subsidy-based housing beds at several unique sites across San Francisco. Under the guidance of the Program Manager of Youth Force, the Youth Force Coordinator will identify, assess, and enroll students for in-house youth internships. The Youth Force Coordinator will cultivate internship opportunities and place youth in positions appropriate to their skills. It is the responsibility of the Youth Force Coordinator to assist with the design and creation of promotional materials for the program as well as collaborate with clients’ housing case managers, counselors, job coaches, and mentors to facilitate client success in the programming. Another key aspect of this position is to assist youth in developing and progressing through career track plans. The Youth Force Coordinator will also support the youth in their ongoing education pursuits by coordinating referrals to in-house education services and enrolling clients in GED and high school equivalency programs with partner organizations. This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefits. Your responsibilities: Coordinate all Youth Force work projects and assign client interns to each of the four Youth Force Counselors. Co-facilitate professional and personal skills development workshops that are pertinent to success in the workplace, including Life Skills Wednesdays and the Employment Training Program. Assist in generating and maintaining client records including assessments, individual and group touchpoints, weekly ETO reports, and incident reports. Support in generating monthly SOU reports summarizing the achievements of the program. Create promotional materials for the program, including flyers and brochures. Attend meetings in various LSYS program sites to facilitate coordinated care. Conduct community outreach to maintain positive relationships with existing local partners as well as to solicit business from new contacts in San Francisco. Collaborate with other Larkin Street Youth Services programs and departments to organize appropriate work projects for youth intern professional development. Assist the Youth Force Program Manager and supervisor in assessing youth for the ability to participate in employment and education programming. Transport multiple youths to work sites in the Bay Area using Larkin Street Youth Services vehicles. Collaborate with the Wellness team to coordinate the care of higher-needs youth. Responsible for supporting program services within the milieu, such as crisis intervention or helping to maintain the safety of the program. Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times. Perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner, complying with agency policies and standards. Maintain a creative, team-building, cooperative approach to job performance. Maintain an awareness of the agency’s mission and work to promote the positive individual and social change goals it embodies. Exercise discretion and professional judgment at all times. Actively strive to upgrade professional skills through engaging in appropriate professional training and experience. Maintain the strictest confidentiality. Ability to work with a diverse staff and excel in a multicultural environment. Other duties as assigned. +$1.50 for bilingual incentive pay. Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
