Job Title: Business Office Director
Reports To:
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary:
The Business Office Director is responsible for overseeing all business office operations, including patient billing, collections, financial reporting, and compliance. This role ensures the efficient and effective management of revenue cycle processes to optimize the hospital’s financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage the business office team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a culture of excellence and accountability within the department.
Revenue Cycle Management:
Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, billing, collections, and accounts receivable management.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance revenue cycle efficiency and effectiveness.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Compliance and Regulations:
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to billing and collections.
Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations that may impact revenue cycle operations.
Customer Service:
Promote high standards of customer service in all interactions with patients, insurance providers, and internal departments.
Address and resolve patient inquiries and concerns related to billing and financial matters.
Collaboration:
Work closely with clinical and administrative departments to streamline processes and improve patient flow and billing accuracy.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance business office technology and systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare finance or business office management, with a strong understanding of the revenue cycle.
Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Proficient in healthcare financial systems and MS Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced hospital setting.
Occasional extended hours may be required to meet deadlines.
