$99,200 - $128,956 per year (GS-12) The major duties of the Safety and Occupational Health Manager position include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide technical support to the safety programs of supported parks in areas such as noise, asbestos, carbon monoxide, welding fumes, silica dust, solvent vapors, oxygen-deficient atmosphere, toxic and explosive gases, flammable materials, blood borne pathogens, laboratory hazards, chemical hazards, mechanized equipment hazards, confined space, and work processes. Conduct annual safety inspections and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future. Develop local safety and environmental directives and recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials. Develop and provide safety education and training.
