Job Description Position Title: Safety Manager

Reports To: Project Manager

Work Location: DC Metro Area

Clearance Type: Must have a current Secret Clearance

Advantage SCI, LLC has a great opportunity for an experienced federal sector Health and Safety Manager. This individual will assist our government customer in the implementation of a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety program, responsible to plan, and evaluate the safety and occupational health services and activities provided to the customer by partner agencies like (Department of Labor, Federal Occupation of Health, etc.). concerning environmental health and safety issues and advise management on all matters affecting employee health and safety as it relates to their working environment.

Duties include but not limited to:

Supports the implementation and monitoring of position-specific health and medical standards for law enforcement personnel (i.e., physicals, hearing tests, etc.). In conjunction with Human Capital Office, helps to develop, implement, and the random drug testing program, suicide prevention program, and other employee health, wellbeing, and safety programs. Assist with the preparation and development of the Health and Safety program policies, procedures, and guidance and conduct office assessments to identify, address, and prevent safety vulnerabilities.

May investigate hazardous conditions, equipment, practices, etc. to identify and analyze the nature and severity of hazards and possible remedial actions (i.e., elimination, correction, or protection)

Participate with the incident management system and respond in accordance with government policies and procedures to emergency incidents; plans inquiries and analyzes accidents, mishaps, and hazardous conditions to determine origin, causes, and contributing elements. Prepares written reports with findings and recommended corrective actions and implements actions in accordance with USG direction. Coordinate, administer, train, and maintain the government's safety and occupational health programs. Trains others on how to manage hazards using established safety codes and standards, i.e., safety code elements, infection control, hazard communication, environmental health, and occupational health. Provide stakeholders with information and materials necessary to develop safety-related procedures and guidance for unique environments, including computer, forensic, and law enforcement laboratories. Analyzes recommend, and maintain the appropriate safety, fire, medical, and emergency equipment for the government. Participate in the development of an effective emergency management system for customer offices and staff that includes routine evaluation and revision for new risks and threats such as active shooter and insider threats. Assist customer to analyze, recommend, and maintain the appropriate safety, fire, medical, preventative maintenance, emergency equipment, and safe working conditions to reduce disruptions and prevent injuries. Develop initiatives for improving safety throughout the customer's enterprise. Assist with the development of initiatives to improve safety and integrate safety concepts into customer's policies and procedures.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Experience and Skills Must have ability and experience to efficiently perform the duties listed above Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, biology, chemistry or occupational safety and health (preferred) Must have 5-7 years of occupational and health safety experience in the federal sector applying expert knowledge of public safety, occupational hazards, and OSHA standards. Must have and be able to maintain a current government SECRET clearance. Must have and maintain current certifications in: First Aid, CPR, AED, and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Excellent writing and verbal communications skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Project, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio) using databases, Adobe PDF, Experience in OSHA recordkeeping requirements Well-versed in risk management; be able to identify corrective and mitigating actions. Strong problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis skills Working Conditions:

Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.

Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.

Able to walk stairs regularly and distances between facilities.

Able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
