Job Description
Position Overview:
The psychologist is responsible for providing clinical services, including individual, group and family therapy, to residents who are admitted to the Rapid Intervention Center, an OMH-licensed in-patient psychiatric facility, and to youth placed in Rose Hard-to-Place Cottage. The psychologist will also be responsible for completing psychological evaluations as needed. The psychologist will be engaged in treatment, assessment, and consultation.
The psychologist shows dedication and willingness to work alongside the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM) team, supporting and carrying out the functions of the model to best serve the population. The psychologist is expected to have a nonjudgmental approach that focuses on skill building and basic principles of behavior modification (reinforcement, extinction, blocking and shaping). The psychologist is required to function as part of a team, committing to modeling pro social behavior and building positive relationships with all residents.
Position Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a licensed psychologist. Experience can be outside of NY State, but a current NY State Psychology License required.
- Prior experience working with children aged 5-12 years old preferred.
Schedule: 20 hours a week; hours determined on availability
