Amazon Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships, International Government, will play a leadership role in building multi-national Allied government partnerships for Kuiper. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships will engage Allied government leadership at the highest levels to create joint, multi-national capabilities based on Kuiper. The capabilities will accelerate the development and distribution of Kuiper’s products and services for government customers around the world. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships will harmonize the Kuiper International Go-to-Market (GTM) with current FVEY strategies, for example AUKUS, regional, and national alliances. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships will advise KGS leadership on all elements of security cooperation to include building partnerships, ITAR and trade licenses and laws, international policies and broader interactions with Department of State and Department of Defense entities. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships will advise KGS leadership on opportunities with Armaments Cooperation international agreements and space acquisition Foreign Military Sales cases. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships will support KGS leadership engagement with International Military Leadership, USSF leadership, and in messaging to and engagements with Congress and White House on international space projects. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships will work closely with Kuiper Product Development, Engineering, Satellite Systems, Legal, Finance, and Export Control to define a roadmap for the International Government GTM Strategy. The Head of International Strategic Partnerships will build strategic partnerships around the world to enable the timely distribution of Kuiper services to government users globally. The successful candidate will possess extensive expertise and high judgment to engage stakeholders, determine the right goals for Kuiper international government, and will be able to influence long term, cross-organizational approaches to Kuiper success. The successful candidate will have deep understanding of government satellite systems, and commercial satellite systems for government users across the globe. Key job responsibilities
Create joint, multi-national capabilities based on Kuiper, both for government broadband services and space-space communications. Create multi-national alliances of Allied users for Kuiper Government Solutions, focusing initially on the FVEY community, and expanding globally. Execute the international government partnership strategy while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Amazon and Kuiper product and engineering teams, legal, support). Develop customer relationships at the highest level of Allied Governments and Strategic Partners. Oversee complex international strategic partnership deals or initiatives to drive to a close. Lead cross-functional Kuiper organizations to execute go-to-market motion, mechanisms, or initiatives. Create a strategy for the development of the Kuiper international government brand and value proposition in coordination with Amazon and Kuiper marketing and public relations. Coordinate with International Public Policy teams on the positioning of Kuiper international service with the political, budgetary and space strategy policies of international customer countries. Successfully advocate, as the voice of the customer, to influence product teams to evolve the products and address issues, concerns, and requests from the international government customers. Analyze and determine key customer insights from business drivers, regional and local government trends, customer feedback, and operating metrics. Must be adept at thinking strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. Must have excellent written and verbal communications including a passion for writing detailed strategic documents. Must consistently meet key performance metrics and Deliver Results. This position is in Arlington, VA. Some travel, both domestic and international, will be required. Security Clearance: Candidates must have recent or active US Government security clearance of TS/SCI (Polygraph preferred) and be able to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, so you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration. Bachelor’s degree 15+ years developing government space system partnerships among U.S. Allies, particularly the FVEY community. 10+ years experience developing and executing international procurements for government customers. Minimum 5 years track record as leader of international government space capabilities. 15 years of experience working with emerging solutions and providers including experience with SATCOM technology. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA/Technical Master’s Degree Extensive experience with government space systems procurement. Exceptional people-management skills; able to inspire and foster the right behaviors in others through leading by example (Player/Coach). Ability to motivate, encourage and coach others to develop strong relationship building and sales skills. Experience working with new product/service development teams and their outbound functions. Track record of building rapport with senior customer executives (e.g. CEO, CIO, CTO), building close relationships, and helping customers execute on large engagements. Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners. Must be able to understand and articulate the business value & technical overview.
