Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney with M&A experience to join a top law firm’s Boston office.
This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong foundation in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate transactions, looking to further develop their expertise within a leading firm. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting clients across a broad spectrum of complex transactions, working with a collaborative team while advancing towards partnership. About the Corporate Section This firm’s corporate practice delivers comprehensive legal expertise and practical business counseling across diverse transactions, helping clients achieve results in areas including commercial, financial, and industrial ventures. Their private equity practice spans fundraising, fund formation, direct investments, portfolio company management, acquisitions, and platform exits, representing a wide array of clients from global funds to family offices. Responsibilities The Corporate Associate will: Handle acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, private equity funds, and financial institution transactions. Provide high-quality legal services both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Integrate into a dynamic national corporate practice, supporting clients on complex, high-stakes transactions. Demonstrate a commitment to professional development aligned with an on-track partnership position. Qualifications JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school. Admission (or eligibility for admission) in Massachusetts or New York. A minimum of 3 years of experience in M&A and private equity transactional work. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High level of professionalism in client interactions and teamwork. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work well in a team setting.
