Job Title: Planning and Materials ManagerOverview:
We are looking for a driven and strategic professional to lead our planning team. The successful candidate will oversee Production Control, Planning & Scheduling, Incoming and Receiving Operations, Stockroom Activities, and Inventory Control within our supply chain.This role involves managing a complex global supply chain, ensuring the seamless flow of raw materials to my client's manufacturing facility internationally, as well as to external customers. Key responsibilities include participating in the introduction of new chemical products, conducting ISO quality audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of responsibility.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute supply chain strategies to optimize product availability and customer service, while minimizing lead times, costs, and inventory levels.
Scheduling:
Collaborate with Global Demand and Supply Planning teams and local operations to create production schedules that meet customer demands while optimizing inventory and costs.
Capacity Management:
Ensure accurate capacity representation in our systems and partner with operations teams to enhance agility, reduce lead times, and maximize resource efficiency.
New Product Transfers:
Facilitate the transition of new products from R&D to the facility in collaboration with R&D, engineering, and commercial teams.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP):
Maintain the effectiveness of the MRP system, ensuring data accuracy and resolving any issues. Manage the integrity of Bills of Materials (BOM) and inventory accuracy.
Process Improvement:
Identify and adopt best practices into current processes, creating a prioritized roadmap for enhancements in collaboration with business leaders.
Logistics and Distribution:
Optimize the transportation and storage of materials, streamlining logistics processes for minimal lead times and maximum efficiency.
Performance Reporting:
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of supply chain performance metrics, including raw material consumption and processing yields.
Safety Culture:
Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
Facility Transition:
Oversee the transition of material activities into the new chemical facility, coordinating ramp-up and product validation plans.
ISO Compliance:
Ensure compliance with ISO Quality Systems and participate in internal and external quality audits.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead initiatives under the Continuous Improvement Lean program to enhance benefits for both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required; Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred; MBA is a plus.3-5 years of management experience in a supply chain environment.Proven leadership in people management, project management, and vendor management.Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Experience in production planning within a multi-step or batch chemical processing facility is highly desirable.Proficient in SAP ECC and APO systems, with a preference for APICS certification and experience in Master Scheduling and LEAN Manufacturing.Knowledge of customs and trade compliance.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
