Job Summary:

This position provides program and financial direction to the South Dakota PLAN Program in order to advance to the goals and objectives of Title X Family Planning services in South Dakota. The Program Director will lead partnership development, program and grants management, fiscal monitoring, lead program evaluation, and program improvement efforts for South Dakota PLAN. This position works as a team with the Family Planning Program Specialist. This position works in collaboration with the Office of Lifespan Health (OLH) to identify and implement evidence-based and evidence-informed strategies and practices to improve health outcomes statewide.

This position will have a strong professional knowledge of quality assurance, policy and procedure development, research, and health services delivery. This position reports to the Office of Lifespan Health Administrator, Division of Family and Community Health.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in public health, biological sciences, or a health-related field

An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered

Work history that includes experience with grants and/or program management

Knowledge, skills, and abilities to work autonomously and as a contributing and supportive member of a team

Ability to use sound judgment, analysis, and discretion within the framework of defined policies and procedures

Organized, with the ability to plan, set goals, and prioritize

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare partners, researchers, and community organizations

Ability to work cooperatively with a team to achieve the Department of Health’s public health strategic goals

Commitment to representing the Department of Health’s mission, vision, and values
