The ND DOCR Division of Parole and Probation in Bismarck is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The starting salary is $18-$20 per hour, depending on experience, with fully paid health insurance for single or family plans. This position is designated as temporary but offers ongoing work at 30-40 hours per week. This posting has been extended. Applicants who have already applied do not need to take further action.Summary of WorkGreet clients and visitors, directing them to the appropriate officer or handling inquiries personally.Respond to daily client questions about supervision status and probation/parole conditions.Answer phone calls, directing them to the proper officer and assisting callers when possible.Maintain appointment schedules for officers.Type correspondence, including forms, memos, and letters.Process incoming and outgoing mail: pick up, open, stamp, and distribute incoming mail; prepare and post outgoing mail.Create and revise forms as needed.Perform computer data entry.Maintain offender files, including documentation and scanning.Prepare monthly reports.Manage supply inventory and order supplies from the central office as needed.Collaborate professionally with local stakeholders regarding client supervision.Assist in writing petitions and managing SCRAM and GPS inventory.Minimum QualificationsRequires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional work experience performing office support, clerical, or secretarial duties is desirable.Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills is necessaryfor performing the job duties. Preference may be given to those individuals who have experience with Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and possess prioritization and time management skills. Must be able to meet strict guidelines and manage time independently. The successful candidatemust be flexible and innovative in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
