Job Description
AGENCY BACKGROUND
Puget Sound Guardians (PSG) offers guardian, conservator, case management, trust, probate, and power of attorney services. PSG has been providing excellent fiduciary services for over 30 years. We have a staff of eighteen employees who work in the field directly with clients, remotely, and in the Mukilteo office. PSG is looking for an experienced Administrative Financial Assistant to join our Agency. It is anticipated that after training is complete and the employee demonstrates they have mastered the necessary skills to work independently, the position will be approximately 50% remote and 50% in the office.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ADMINISTRATIVE FINANCIAL ASSOCIATE
- Support three Financial Associates with administrative and organizational tasks.
- Communications regarding client’s benefits and completion of applications for benefits, including Medicaid, Social Security, Veteran Affairs, pension plans, LTC, insurance companies, etc.
- Communications/correspondence to financial institutions (bank, credit union, investment company) to determine if the client has an account, request and review historical account data, and complete documents required for transfer to the conservator account or to close the account.
- Request and monitor credit reports, IRS transcripts, and unclaimed property.
- Working with a Financial Associate, review initial and regular monthly liabilities and make payments per budget, review and deposit income; maintain bank account(s) by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions, reconciling/balancing bank and investment account(s), and keep all financial documents organized and filed.
- Telephone and/or written communications with clients to answer specific questions regarding finances or monthly allowance.
- Regular meetings with Executive Director and/or Financial Department manager to update them on client financial status and/or concerns when appropriate.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
REQUIREMENTS
B.A. and a minimum of three years of experience working in a professional position with financial responsibilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Quicken and QuickBooks.
PSG is a busy office – candidates must be organized and be able to prioritize assignments/responsibilities.
Our clients are often incapacitated adults, many of whom have been victim of neglect or financial abuse. All employees must be compassionate, have a positive attitude, and care about the end result of work.
