If you have experience in long-term care, your expertise will be particularly valuable as we work to support the medication needs of our diverse patient base.

Key Responsibilities of the Retail Pharmacist:

• Dispense Medications: Accurately fill and dispense prescriptions in compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
• Patient Counseling: Provide clear and thorough instructions on medication use, potential side effects, and interactions to ensure patients understand their treatment.
• Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Work with physicians and healthcare professionals to support effective patient care.
• Medication Therapy Management (MTM): Review and optimize medication regimens for improved patient outcomes.
• Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, stocking, and organization of medications and supplies, ensuring availability and compliance.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to California state pharmacy laws, HIPAA guidelines, and internal policies to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Community Engagement: Participate in community health education on medication adherence, wellness, and preventive care.

Qualifications for the Retail Pharmacist Role:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program
• Current California pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience in a retail pharmacy setting; long-term care pharmacy experience is highly beneficial
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical care, drug interactions, and patient counseling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered care
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals
