Job Summary:
Airweave, a global leader in innovative sleep solutions, and the #1 Mattress Brand in Japan is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Leader to launch and oversee the development of our first US retail store in Westside Los Angeles, opening in Q1 2025. This position requires someone with strong leadership, retail management, and business development skills not only to drive sales growth but also to establish recognition as a luxury brand through the in-store shopping experience. You will play a crucial role in shaping the brand’s US market presence and growing our retail and digital operations. This role is perfect for someone who loves to wear many hats, Sales, Service, Hospitality, Marketing & Training. Your fingerprint on who Airweave becomes in the US will be substantial as this is an opportunity to build something from the ground up!
Key Responsibilities For the Director of Sales:
• Retail Operations:
o Oversee the opening and ongoing operations of the first Airweave retail store in Westside Los Angeles.
o Project manage store development, construction, and launch.
o Run the store daily working one weekend day a week and four weekdays.
• Team Building & Leadership:
o Recruit, hire, and manage a high-performing retail and sales team.
o Lead the development of innovative customer shopping experience for establishing a luxury brand image, training programs, ensuring team members are well versed in product knowledge and customer engagement.
o Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, focused on collaboration, customer service, and success.
• Sales & Business Development:
o Oversee all aspects of sales operations, including customer service, phone inquiries, Zoom appointments, and in-store interactions. The sales team will handle all outbound and inbound so you will truly oversee all of sales!
o Develop and maintain partnerships with local hotels, Airbnb hosts, and corporate clients to drive business.
o Collaborate with the marketing team to generate creative content and targeted advertising for the store.
• Corporate Engagement:
o Work closely with Airweave’s corporate team
▪ Will be attending bi-mponthy meetings at the corporate office in LA
o Report on sales performance and provide strategic insights to optimize company wide operations for retail.
• Travel Opportunities:
o Occasional travel to industry events, workshops, and meetings/training.

Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of experience leading teams with a proven track record of success in people management.
• Retail experience is a huge plus, especially in high-end brand stores featuring non-discounted products. • Ability to work on-site at the retail store and corporate office as required. o This will evolve over time, but it is imperative this leader is working in the retail store the first year establishing best in class culture, processes and capitalizing on all opportunities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Understands business metrics, KPI’s and can present out data effectively. • Ability to travel occasionally for industry events and company functions, and ability to travel more heavily down the road as the position grows with Airweave.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Competitive base salary: $80,000-90,000 per year (depending on experience). • Monthly bonus opportunity, Premium benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.).
