The Director of Business Development is a senior executive responsible for developing and implementing the company-wide business intelligence strategy and overseeing the overall business operations of the BI Department. As the sole BI professional, you will be responsible for building and executing the data strategy from the ground up, providing crucial insights that will shape business decisions across the organization. This is a unique opportunity to be both hands-on and strategic, driving the development of our BI capabilities to support key business objectives.
BI Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement the company's overall business intelligence and data analytics strategy.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all BI-related initiatives and requests across departments.
Build data models, reports, and dashboards to provide actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.
Data Collection & Analysis:
Identify key data sources and ensure the collection of high-quality data across the organization.
Perform data analysis and develop custom reports to support business functions such as operations, marketing, finance, and sales.
Transform raw data into meaningful insights using advanced analytics and data visualization tools.
Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track business performance.
Present data findings and actionable recommendations to senior management and department heads.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve data accuracy and business reporting.
Technical Implementation:
Manage the full BI lifecycle, from gathering requirements to deploying solutions.
Oversee the selection and implementation of BI tools and platforms that best suit the company's needs.
Design and maintain scalable data architecture and reporting systems to support business growth.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's Preferred).
Experience:
5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
Proven track record of working independently and delivering impactful BI solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Strong SQL skills for querying databases and performing data analysis.
Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Familiarity with AI/ML models and how they can be applied in business analytics.
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus.
